COUNCIL
- There
shall be a University Students' Council as specified in sub-section
(4), a University Departments Students' Council for the post-graduate
departments of the university and a Students' Council for each
conducted college or institution of the University and each affiliated
college, to look after the welfare of the students and to promote
and co-ordinate the extracurricular activities of different student’s
associations for better corporate life. The Councils shall not
engage in political activities.
The
Students' Council for each institution, conducted college and
affiliated college shall consist of the following :—
- The
Principal—Chairman;
- One
lecturer, nominated by the principal;
- Teacher
in charge of The National Cadet Corps;
- The
National Service Scheme Programme Officer;
- One
student from each class, who has shown academic merit at the
examination held in the preceding year and who is engaged
in full-time studies in the college, nominated by the Principal,
- Director
of Sports and Physical Education, if any;
- One
student from each of the following activities, who has shown
outstanding performance, nominated by the principal, namely
:-
- Sports;
- National
Serivce Scheme and Adult Education;
- National
Cadet Corps ;
- Cultural
Activities.
- Two
lady students nominated by the principal;
- The
student members of both these Councils shall elect, from amongst
themselves, the Secretary of their respective council.
- One
third of the members of the council shall constitute the quorum.
The rules and procedure for conduct of business of the meetings
and such other matters shall be such as may be prescribed. The
Council shall meet at least once in every three months.
HOSTEL
The
College has a Hostel for 80 male students within the College campus.
Hostel fees including services and other charges are to be paid
in advance.
Hostelites
will have to observe the rules and regulations strictly, failing
which they will be expelled from the hostel.
THE COLLEGE
GYMKHANA
General
The
following shall be the Constitution of the Ruparel College Gymkhana.
The Constitution can be amended, when necessary, only by the College
authorities. The Managing Committee of the Gymkhana may frame byelaws,
if and when necessary, for the working of the Gymkhana in accordance
with the Constitution, provided that no bye-law so framed comes
into operation, if it is inconsistent with one or more parts of
this Constitution, or is vetoed by the Principal of the College
for any reason which he considers satisfactory.
Rules
Regulations Railway Concesion
- Students
will be issued railway concesion forms and season tickets from
the station nearest to their residence to the station nearest
to the college. Residential address given on the admission form
will be taken as valid for this concession. It cannot be changed
during the course of the year.
- For
long journey concession, the native place once declared on the
admission form will be valid and cannot be changed subsequently.
