Investigations carried out in our Asthma and Allergy Centre:
  1. Lung Function Testing (PFT) -
    Computerized PFT or Spirometry is carried out on a spirometer to assess function and efficacy of lungs.

  2. Peak Flow Reading -
    To monitor blowing capacity of the patients using a Peak Flow Meter.

  3. Reversibility Testing-
    This test studies the bronchodilator response on lung function after administration of bronchodilator through nebulizer.

  4. Rhinomanometry-
    For Rhinitis patients, the test enables the detection of obstruction in nasal air flow using a computerized Rhinomanometer and also the improvement in nasal congestion after nasal drops administration is observed. Reversibility of nasal obstruction, Nasal Provocation test (NPT) for inhalant allergens, occupational allergens are also performed.

  5. Skin Testing-

    Allergy Testing-
    Using a panel of various allergens such as pollens, fungus, dust mites, pet danders, food allergen extracts.

    Patch Skin Testing- is performed for determining allergy to drugs, cosmetics etc.

    Physical urticaria testing is performed.

  6. Bronchial lability testing-
    Wherein patients PFR performance, O2 levels, BP, and Pulse levels are monitored pre and post treadmill exercise.

  7. ECG-
    ECG monitoring facility is available.

  8. Pulse Oxymetry-
    Pulse Oxymeter is used to measure a patient's resting Oxygen saturation in our clinic.

PATIENT EDUCATION WORKSHOP

Routine workshops are conducted for patient education .These programmes include valuable guidance and slide shows on do's and don'ts for Asthma, Diet and Allergy control for the patients.

Live demonstrations on breathing exercises for Asthma are also included.
A trend analysis of patient's progress is done.
